I gave an Intro about Python & FOSS to the JNU Students

Dear All,

I have been joined in the all the lug mailing list which are all surrounded by delhi, when I shifted to delhi.

By this way I am also one of the member of junlug mailing list.

In that one MCA student of JNU posted in mailing list like, first python workshop is going to held on 26.03.2011.

I was excited and I made call to that boy (Sachin).

So I went to JNU by walk from IITD on day before yesterday.

I became so tired by walked with carryout the 3kg laptop. Really JNU is such a big campus. Its one of my dreams, to study in JNU.

Then I reached the computer science block about 2 pm.

Its amazing one. In the lab, more than 20 students were sitting in front of the computers and one research scholar Kapil started to share about python to the students.

Then he introduced about myself to the students.

Kapil asked me to handle the session, since he has started to learn about python just one month before.

Then I requested him to arrange projector to show the demo of python.

Once the student came to know, what is python and over all view about python, then they will learn the python by them self.

I feel that get an intro about some thing and then start to learn by ourself is much interest than learning by ourself without knowing what it is…

So I decided to gave an intro about what is python to those students. All of us shifted to class room from lab.

As usual I gave live demo of python by using my slide .

Also most of the students dont know what is foss. So I used the following slides and explained what is FOSS and Gnu/Linux ….

we ended this session at 5 pm.

I shared some other thing like PyConIndia and python user group mailing list in india.

Thanks,
Arulalan.T
